New Kid In Town – Take Your Time

I came across “Take Your Time” by New Kid In Town and haven’t been able to stop playing it. It’s the kind of song that slows everything down in the best way. The first few seconds hit with these easy, warm Telecaster riffs that carry this peaceful, familiar feeling. It instantly makes the noise of the day feel far away.

The whole track moves at its own pace, which feels rare. It just unfolds naturally, like it’s not in a rush to impress you. There’s a quiet confidence to how it all comes together. The instruments aren’t trying to compete with each other. They breathe together, giving the song a spacey, thoughtful vibe.

His voice really fits that space. It’s steady and soft, not overdone, but still holds your attention. There’s a bit of that old soul in how he sings, but he doesn’t sound like he’s trying to copy anyone. Think of the ease you get from Tom Petty or Cat Stevens, but filtered through someone writing from a small flat in the middle of a city. It’s grounded. There’s also something about the way the song ends. It sort of lingers in your head for a bit, like the last shot of a movie. It doesn’t wrap everything up perfectly, and that’s what makes it stick. It’s short, under four minutes, but it leaves enough space for you to think about whatever’s going on in your own world.

This one’s part of a bigger album coming soon, and if this is a sign of what’s ahead, I’m all in. It feels personal, like the kind of record someone made because they had something real to say, not because they were trying to fill a playlist. Go follow New Kid In Town on Spotify and socials. You’re gonna want to hear the rest when it lands.
