I’ve been listening to Intercontinen7al, Volume 4 on repeat lately, and it’s one of those albums that sneaks up on you in the best way.

The opener “Lipstick On Your Collar” pulled me in right away. The line “You are not the guy I need, you are not the guy I want” sits over hazy guitars and soft brass, and it just sticks. It’s the kind of song that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into someone’s memories. That mood carries through most of the record.

The cool thing about Intercontinen7al is that it’s truly global. Their site mentions that songs like “MANOR HILL,” “PUERTO AISEN,” and “NIGHT SHIFT” were recorded on all seven continents. You can hear that spirit in the sounds and textures. Every track feels like a small snapshot of a different place, but the whole record still feels connected.

“Night Shift” might be my favorite. It starts off gentle, with a picked acoustic guitar that feels close and personal. Then it opens up little by little with drums, keys, bass, and warm backing vocals from Becca Drayer. The duet parts with Matt Smith hit in that quiet, emotional way that’s rare.

The rest of the album covers a lot of ground without feeling scattered. “Infinity Mirror”, “Soul Search”, and “Small Ships” all have their own character. There’s a mix of rock, folk, and bits of soul tucked in there. Every track brings a different texture, but nothing feels forced or out of place. What really works is how honest it all sounds. The writing feels personal, but never heavy-handed. The songs talk about distance, connection, and finding meaning in between it all. The melodies and arrangements feel natural, like they grew into shape rather than being polished to death.

The more I listen, the more I find to appreciate. The vocals feel lived-in, the production gives each instrument its space, and there’s always some little detail that pops on another listen. Volume 4 might not be an “instant hit” kind of album, but it’s the type you grow with. It’s warm, human, and made by people who clearly love making music together.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, give it a listen. And if it clicks with you, follow Intercontinen7al on social media and Spotify so you can catch whatever they make next.
