LIME GARDEN – ‘MARBLES’

Following the release of their previous single “clockwork” which was met with acclaim from critics and tastemakers alike, the band have been championed by the likes of Lauren Lavern and Tom Robinson at BBC Radio 6 Music in addition to Matt Wilkinson at Apple Music. Their flurry of early releases has also earned them spots on the NME 100 and DIYs Class of 2022. With the addition of “Marbles” to their stellar back catalogue, there is no doubt that Lime Garden will continue to live up to the hype.

Already renowned for combining catchy hooks with Lead singer Chloe Howards, dry-wit and frank lyricism, the bands new track sees them further expand their sonic palette. Underlining disco rhythms with warped guitars to create a feeling of dissonance that perfectly accompanies the records ruminative lyrical content. Speaking about the track, the Lead Singer said “Marbles’ is about the realisation that you’re not sharing the same lifestyle as those around you. It’s about overthinking that comparison to the point where you question your own sanity or direction in life. It tells the story of an individual on a journey of self-discovery that the listener is witnessing from afar but with access to their internal monologue.”

With yet another certified banger under their belts, the Brighton four-piece seem hell bent on dragging us from the doldrums to the dancefloor and I am certainly here for it.
