Emerging from the heart of Herefordshire, rising indie outfit Pentire have dropped their latest track, ‘Being Underwater’, a standout cut from their forthcoming EP Love on TV. The song captures the essence of small-town youth, the chaotic beauty of mosh pits, and the electrifying freedom of truly living.

Frontman Jack Morgan, raised on a steady diet of The Killers, Paolo Nutini, and Stereophonics, first crossed paths with his bandmates in the sleepy town of Ross-on-Wye. What began as noisy jam sessions in a garden shed has evolved into a full-blown UK sensation, with Pentire now selling out venues nationwide. Reflecting on the creation of Love on TV, Jack shares, “The creation of this EP has seen both love and loss, and so it naturally has a little piece of each of us woven between the lyrics and melodies. It represents the last 15 months of our lives, on the road and in the studio, and we couldn’t be more happy with it.”

On ‘Being Underwater’, Jack adds: “It’s about leaving your hometown behind and trying to find your feet in the city. Growing up and stepping into reality can feel isolating — like you’ve been underwater for years. I wrote it during a trip back home, in a quiet moment away from the chaos of urban life.”

Now a formidable four-piece, Pentire are making serious waves across the UK. They’ve shared stages with breakout acts like milk. and LARKINS, while packing out their own headline shows. With airplay from Jack Saunders (BBC Radio 1), Steve Lamacq (BBC 6Music), and John Kennedy (Radio X), Pentire are fast becoming one of the UK’s most exciting new voices in indie music.
