The video for Montell Fish’s recent track, “HOTEL”, sees the artist give an anguish-driven performance of the devastatingly mesmeric track, from a humble double bed. Judging by the hotel white sheets and the track’s title, it is indeed a hotel room, and Fish proves such a setting is all he needs to bring to life his angsty, gospel-influenced, genre-bending sound.
The Brooklyn artist should probably get used to hotel rooms anyway, as he prepares for 11 dates across North America on his “A Night With A Ghost” tour, from the end of October and throughout November. His large and growing legion of fans, which currently exceeds nine million monthly Spotify listeners, look set to be treated to some new music at his gigs, with Fish’s new EP, “Her Love Still Haunts Me Like A Ghost”, due on the tour’s opening night. The halfway house between his recent album Jamie and it’s upcoming successor Charlotte, the project promises to reimagine the pared-back sonics we’ve become used to from the artist, into a fuller, more colourful sound.
We can’t wait to get our teeth into the full “Her Love Still Haunts Me Like A Ghost” project upon its release, but for now, head below to watch the video for “HOTEL” right now…
