Whilst perhaps not the leading tastemaker in the music industry, it’s sort of assumed that whatever Bella Hadid is listening to is as stylish and icy cool as the supermodel herself. And, Australian duo CVIRO & GXNXVS can certainly claim those descriptors after Hadid played their music to millions of followers on one of her social media channels.
However, vocalist, CVIRO and producer, GXNXVS’ old-school, futuristic R&B with sharp, forward-facing intent hasn’t been short of co-signs from traditional critics as well, and latest single “Nasty”, featuring Chicago artist Jean Deaux, epitomises their high octane charm, in anticipation of upcoming debut EP for Red Bull Records “Come On In”.The pair first linked up in 2014, with breakout single “Benjamins” racking up over eight million Spotify streams to date. Recruiting the irresistible vocal chops of Jean Deaux this time around, the riotous, club-ready anthem shows no sign of waning energy eight years in. “‘Nasty’ is more of a fun record.” they explain. “It’s straight up a strip club anthem. We wanted a high-energy bop. It’s a good stepping stone into the rest of the project, but we come out with a bang.”Head below to watch the vintage-inspired video for “Nasty” for yourself, right now…
