So I’ve been stuck on It Is What It Is by DIB DIGITAL lately, and honestly, it kind of caught me off guard. It’s not trying to be loud about anything, but it still grabs you. Like when you’re watching someone paint and they’re not saying much, but you can tell everything they feel is right there in the brush strokes. That’s how this album comes across—like it’s quietly saying, “I’ve got you”.

The tracks move in their own rhythm. One minute it’s chill, with this smoky, jazzed-out groove, and the next thing you know there’s a track with these raw guitars that dig into something deeper. It doesn’t follow one sound, and that’s probably what makes it hit harder. It doesn’t ask for permission. It just is what it is.

“Get Away” really got under my skin in the best way. It’s haunting without being heavy-handed. There’s this quiet desperation in it, like someone running but not sure where they’ll land. And still, there’s this soft pulse of hope that keeps it from tipping over. It doesn’t beg you to feel something—you just do. Then “Solid Ground” shows up and it’s like walking outside after a long day and the air suddenly feels new. It gives you this sense that you’re figuring stuff out while the world keeps spinning. Nothing loud. Just this steady, grounding feeling like, yeah, you’re gonna be alright.

Each song brings its own little world with it. Not in an overdone, concept-heavy way. More like flipping through sketches in someone’s notebook—some rough, some polished, all honest. The cool part is how it’s all wrapped up with visual art too. You can tell the guy behind this is building something that doesn’t need a label on it. It’s not packaged up for approval. It’s just someone making stuff because they need to.

I didn’t know who DIB DIGITAL was before this, but I’m paying attention now. If this album is the start of something, I definitely want to see where it goes. Go follow him on Spotify and Instagram so you don’t miss what’s next. You’ll thank yourself later.
